What is High Speed Encryption?
Thales High Speed Encryption is a security solution for Data in Motion.

Where is High Speed Encryption implemented?

It is the ideal solution for wide area networks (WANs) also including disaster recovery solutions, container structures such as Kubernetes, and cloud services.

How does High Speed Encryption work?

High Speed Encryptor products sit on the network between the firewall and the switch. It performs end-to-end encryption across public and private networks.
HSE devices require no change to underlying network.

Why High Speed Encryption?
  1. Performance:
IPSec is a 25-years-old protocol package. It uses tunneling. On the other hand, HSE Platform secure the packets by encrpting data directly without any tunneling. This increases the efficiency on data transfer rate. IPSec requires 40% to 123% more bytes than the HSE platform. This results with 30% overhead to data egress traffic.
High Speed Encryption can operate duplex at full line speed up to 100Gbps with almost zero latency.
  2. Simplicity:
High Speed Encryption reduces cost and complexity with “Set and forget”.
    It is highly scalable.
It provides alternative solutions for different network topologies and usage scenarios.
By Transport Independent Mode (TIM), it provides applicability and consistency over any network layers.
  3. Security:
Key Management is maintained on its own, independent from the network.
Hardware solutions are tamper proof dedicated security appliances.
Thanks to FPGA architecture, HSE has support for Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC), which means resistance to cryptographic attacks of quantum computers.
Compared to the MACsec technology, which was standardized in 2006 and working at the L2 layer, HSE can provide a much higher level of security.
It has FIPS 140-2 Level 3 and Common Criteria EAL 4+/ANSSI independent certifications, as well as military approvals from organizations such as DISA UC APL (Defense Information Systems Agency) and NATO.

Who Uses High Speed Encryption?
In more than 35 countries, Thales High Speed Encryption solutions are preferred by market-leading financial institutions, telecommunications companies, large commercial and public institutions and military forces.

Which High Speed Encryptor?
There are physical and virtual HSE solutions for different needs.
There are three physical HSE Network Encryptor devices with different performances according to data transmission density.
CV1000, the virtual HSE solution, is suitable for cloud, software-based networks (SDN), and server-to-server communication.
